Product update! (Please read if you purchased a canvas before 11/01/24)Updated 2 months ago
Hello, faithful LL supporter!
We wanted to let you know that in November 2024, we transitioned to having our some of our canvases printed through a different company than we have used previously. This new printing partner is still in the same family of brands that we have used for the last ten years, but their production process is slightly different which allowed us to maintain some of our costs (instead of raising them) on some of our options – unframed, gallery white, gallery black, and gallery natural. These frames are now a lower price than the other frames offered, but have a slightly different final design than the other gallery framed canvases. The elements used to create the canvases are the exact same, and they are still assembled with love and care right here in America – just as the original canvases were. The only obvious difference is that the new lower priced canvases do not come with our signature hanging hardware. (We miss it too, but we opted for keeping costs lower since the related to keeping the hanging hardware was surprisingly significant). We weren't able to switch all of our frames to this new partner, but the ones we could, we did. Gallery Aged Brass, Champagne, and the Shaker frames will all come with hanging kits). (Check out this article about our Signature Hanging Kits if you are interested!)
Other than that, you won't notice a difference in printing, material or quality. The two versions are almost indistinguishable – unless you want to hang a new canvas with a canvas that you've ordered previous to November 2024.
There are a few slight differences that you can only see when they are hung directly next to each other. For one, the original company creates the frame with the canvas set back sightly further into the frame, while the new printing partner has the fave of the canvas sitting more flush to the floating frame. Additionally, there's less room between the canvas and the floating frame around the edges, which is most noticeable in the photos. This also makes the finished framed piece just a tad (~1" smaller than the other framed canvas). One version isn't superior to the other, just a slight difference in specs. Here are the two pieces to compare (original canvas style on the left, new is on the right).
If you are ordering a framed canvas that you are intending to display directly next to a canvas that you ordered before November 2024, please reach out to us (Becca will take care of you!) and so we can make a plan to get you a canvas that will exactly match your existing one.
We apologize for any hassle and hank you for your understanding!
