About our Traditional CanvasesUpdated 6 months ago
Our Traditional Canvases evoke the beautiful artisanal feeling that all heirloom-quality artwork should, because they are created using the same type of traditional canvases that artists have been using for centuries. They are hand crafted by hand with organic materials and made right here in the USA!
The only difference between these canvases and that of the old masters is that instead of applying a medium to the canvas, the piece is being digitally printed for you instead. This is so that the art, (in the best way) is not exclusive. Lindsay believes that if people see art that speaks to them, people should be able to have it! This also means that all artwork can be customized to your needs including scale, finishing option, and in some circumstances, color.
We do not sell any rolled canvas products and the hardware comes pre-installed, so any Canvas you order will be ready to hang (or lean), straight out of the box.
In a nutshell:
- All canvases are gallery wrapped and printed with archival, UV-resistant inks on museum quality canvas.
- Our canvases are digital reproduction prints with no variation in surface texture. They are smooth to the touch; any texture you see is part of the scan of the image. There is no faux texture added.
- All of our canvases do have a UVB protectant to protect against fading, moisture, and abrasion.
- The artwork is printed at 300 dpi and intended to be best viewed at a distance of several feet. If you inspect your canvas closely, you will see a dot pattern from the printer. This is a mechanism of digital printing and not an error.
- Ships from Raleigh, North Carolina.
- Canvases typically ship within 5-7 business days. Current Production times can be reviewed here.
(As of November 2024, All of the Canvases at Lindsay Letters are Traditional Canvases, with the exception of our Abstract Minis, which are our Canvas Sign material).
